Jinsha Relics

Jinsha Relics is a major archeological excavation of China in 21st century. Covering an area of approximately 5 square kilometers, the site was the capital of ancient Shu kingdom and an ancient cultural hub in upper Yangtze River from 12th century B.C. to 7th century B.C. (3200 to 2900 years ago). It has witnessed the most enormous discovery of ivory, gold and jade works in the same period of time in the world. Among all excavated items, a golden foil referred as the sunbird is the most famous one, which has been approved as a symbol of China's cultural heritage and the main content of city image of Chengdu. Jinsha Relics is considered to be the very beginning of Chengdu city in ancient times, for its discovery rewound Chengdu’s history to 3000 years ago.
