Jinsha Site Museum was built upon the location of a major ancient Shu civilization archeological discovery, the Jinsha Relics. Covering an area of 456 mu (1 mu=0.0667 hectares), the museum is one of the most representative exhibition spots that showcase the mysterious ancient Shu civilization and bronze culture. It has been listed together with Sanxingdui site on tentative list for China’s application for 2016 world cultural heritage. Jinsha Site Museum is also a 4A scenic spot, one of the f irst national archaeological site parks and national f irst-class museum.
To promote the development of private museums, Chengdu municipal government proposed an initiative of “one center, three clusters”, which aims at building private museum clusters including Anren museum town, Luodai museum cluster and Mount Qingcheng museum cluster by seeking out social capital and private resource.

A museum is like a bank for cultural deposits. There are over one hundred museums in Chengdu depositing thousands of years of culture and history of the city.
